Nathan Earrings Beading Pattern

Here is a new beading pattern!  They are pretty simple earrings, but the endless possible color combinations can make them stand out and WOW!

In my example, I used primary colors and turquoise.  I was going for a tribal look.

This pattern was completed using a combination of ladder stitch, two drop brick stitch, and fringe.  A foundation row is created using a ladder stitch with two beads in each row (9 rows).  The rest of the beadwork is completed using a two bead brick stitch.  It's a good pattern for a beginner because there are no complicated increases or decreases.  I used round, size 11/o seed beads for the earrings pictured above, but feel free to experiment with the pattern using various sizes, shapes, and colors of beads.

Strawberry Earrings Beading Pattern

I had planned on writing another kindle book, and I still might, but I have decided to share some of the patterns I was going to include here on my blog instead.   

Here is a pattern for seed beaded/brick stitch strawberry earrings.

This pattern was completed using a combination of ladder stitch, single and two drop brick stitch (as with many of my other patterns).  A foundation row is created using a ladder stitch with two beads in each row.  The rest of the beadwork is completed using either a single or two bead brick stitch.  It's another really good beginner's project because there are no complicated increases or decreases.  I used round, size 11/o seed beads for the earrings pictured above, but feel free to experiment with the pattern using various sizes and shapes of beads.  Various colors can be used too.  They would look awesome in a sparkly red.

Avocado Earrings Beading Pattern

Hi everyone!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but...

I have a new beading pattern for you!

This one was inspired by the area where I grew up.  My grandparents lived in a house surrounded by avocado trees, and I have grown up loving them.  In my opinion, there's no better snack than some chips and guacamole!

Anyway...

The Midas Ring

Hi everyone!

Guess what....

I have a fun, new beading pattern for you!

I have been loving glittering gold lately...

so I decided to create this crown ring.  

There are two versions of the pattern.

This pattern is completed using a ladder and brick stitch.  
You will need a beading needle, beading thread, and seed beads.  
I used 11/0, round, silver-lined, topaz seed beads to get the glittering, gold look:)  
I also used 8/0, round, transparent, rose-colored seed beads
 on the tips of the second pattern to get a different look.  
You are free to experiment with different colors and sizes of beads!

Getting Ready...and a FREE Beading Pattern!

We have been having some fun getting ready for the 4th of July!

We painted our toenails a couple of days ago...

It was such a pain doing all of the detail with a toothpick!

I saw something similar here today, and it looks like an easier process.

I also made the girls these flag fringe necklaces.

They were super quick and easy to make...

and I put together a pattern to share!

I started by stringing the necklace part with beading wire, but you can use beading thread also.

~basic bead stringing/fringe knowledge is helpful~

Surprising...

I got an email saying I have had over 2,500 downloads of my gumball machine valentines on Keep and Share!  And...that doesn't include everyone who has been able to download them from Scribd or that I personally emailed the valentine to.  It's kind of crazy cool!  I'm glad everyone likes them!

Raindrops on Rainbows Beading Pattern

Hi!

I finally wrote out the "Raindrops on Rainbows" beading pattern for you guys. The pattern is done in brick stitch. The finished rainbow could be used as a necklace charm (as pictured below), large earrings, as a little decoration on your purse....or anywhere else that would benefit from a cheerful little rainbow:)

I noticed the link I had to the brick stitch tutorial on my other patterns was no longer working. So, HERE is a new one I found. It's animated, which is kinda cool. HERE is another tutorial with instructions for how to do fringe at the end. I found the instructions HERE to be good too. I start my first row with one bead (after the base/ladder stitch row) more like this tutorial.

For the "chain" part of the necklace in the picture above, I used beading wire and strung seed beads in various sizes in a rainbow color pattern. Also, I used all round size 11/o seed beads for the rainbow. The bead sizes could be changed up to make the rainbow larger or smaller.

Gumball Machine Valentines

I finished the gumball valentines that I designed.

I think they turned out really cute.

Hope you like them too!

Here is the tutorial and free printable,

so you can make them too!

But first...

Here is a tip for poking holes in gum balls,

so you can string them to make jewelry...

or whatever.

Use a small drill bit!

Drill through one side,

then drill through the other side.

The drilling can be done by hand

with just the drill bit and not using the drill.

Another tip...

start with a very small drill bit and gradually

enlarge the hole by stepping up

the size of the drill bit.

This will help you drill through

the gum ball without cracking it.

Here is the valentine tutorial:

(aren't they cute!)

Get the PDF to print the bottom part of the valentine here.

You can print it on any color paper card stock that you wish.

Put gum balls in a bag, about 10 of them.

I used fold top sandwich bags for the gum balls,

but you can also use plastic wrap or other small clear baggies.

Tie the bag closed.

I tied the bag with yarn,

but any string would work.

Gather the end of the bag and tape to

the back of the printed portion of the valentine.

Trim the end of the bag,

so it looks nice and doesn't hang

past the end of the valentine.

Turn over...

Finished!

Seed Beaded American Beauty Earring Pattern

These earrings would be perfect for the 4th of July!

Feel free to use the pattern to make yourself a pair (or buy them in my Etsy shop!).
You will need to know how to do a two drop brick stitch and looped fringe.
Size 11/0 round or cylinder type beads will work best. I used Toho 11/0 seed beads in cobalt silver lined, silver galvanized matte, ruby silver lined matte and white opaque (but any shade of red, white, blue and silver will work).

Polymer Clay Pug Tutorial (and giveaway!!!)

Polymer clay pug dog bead tutorial:

Above photo shows amounts of clay that will be used.

You will need beige, brown, black and white colored polymer clay (tiny glass holeless beads are optional). Also, I reinforce each added piece of clay with liquid polymer clay.

The larges ball of beige clay is flattened. This will be the head.

Next grab one of the larger balls of brown clay. Shape into a triangle. This will be the snout.

Place snout on bottom, center of the beige head piece.

Next, shape two of the smaller (about half the snout amount) balls of brown clay into teardrop shapes. These will be the eye spots.

Place with pointed side up on both sides of the top of the snout.

Now, we will make the eyebrows. Take the small balls of beige (the same amount as the eye spots), and roll into tiny snakes, tapering at the ends.

Fold snakes in half pinching ends lightly together.

Place the eyebrows on the top part of the head over the eye spots with rounded ends touching in the center.

Take two more of the larger balls of brown (same amount as snout). Shape into triangles. These will be the ears.

Place on top of head, but a little off to the sides.

Now, the nose. Grab the small ball of black (about a quarter the size of the eye spots). Roll into a ball, slightly oval shaped.

Place nose on the top part of the snout.

Roll tiny balls of white (about half the size of nose) to make the eye balls. Place on the center of each brown eye spot and flatten.

Add a tiny dot of black clay or tiny black holeless beads to the center of each white eyeball.

Take a needle tool or needle and press into the center, bottom half of the snout.

Poke hole in desired position.

Bake according to directions on clay package.
